architecture
Adaptive and modular design, sustainable construction and spatial responses to emergency conditions.
Design & constructionA shared educational response to disaster risk. Bringing architecture, engineering and ecological planning into one international master's programme design.
Discover EMERGE ↓Disasters demand expertise that crosses disciplinary and national boundaries.
EMERGE is developing the academic and institutional foundations for an integrated, international master's programme in Emergency Architecture. The project connects spatial design, disaster risk management, structural safety and environmental recovery.
Through Erasmus Mundus Design Measures, the participating institutions will develop shared learning outcomes, a joint curriculum, mobility arrangements and a common quality assurance framework.
EMERGE is a master's programme design project. The future degree structure, accreditation and admissions arrangements are to be developed through the project.

The design phase will establish the academic, organisational and quality frameworks needed for future programme delivery.
Learning outcomes, course modules, syllabi and a coherent credit structure supported by practice-oriented learning.
Partnership and student agreements, mobility design, recognition arrangements and coordinated student support.
Common quality assurance, accreditation planning and a framework for sustainable international cooperation.
The EMERGE project officially started on 1 October 2026. Coordinated by Eskişehir Technical University, the project brings together its international academic consortium to develop a joint master's programme in Emergency Architecture through Erasmus Mundus Design Measures.
The EMERGE consortium is pleased to celebrate the recognition of its team member, Associate Professor Maria Gabriella Trovato, with the 2026 President’s Award of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA).
This prestigious distinction recognises her contributions to humanitarian landscape architecture, ecological restoration, and socially inclusive approaches to landscape recovery, particularly in communities affected by conflict, displacement, and environmental challenges.
Through her academic and professional engagement, including her work with Landscape Architects Without Borders (LAWB), Maria Gabriella Trovato has contributed to advancing the understanding of landscapes as essential components of community well-being, cultural identity, environmental recovery, and long-term resilience.
Her work closely resonates with the mission of EMERGE, which seeks to strengthen international cooperation, education, and professional capacity in disaster risk reduction, and resilient recovery.
The EMERGE consortium warmly congratulates Maria on this distinguished international recognition. We are delighted to have her expertise and commitment within our international partnership and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts towards more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable environments.
